Have you ever struggled to make quinoa? Tried to make it following box directions (2 cups liquid for 1 cup quinoa) and ended up with a soupy mess (please don’t tell me this has only happened to me!) I did some research online and recipe testing found a way to cook quinoa that gives me the best, fluffiest results.
Here’s how I made it.
Fluffy Quinoa
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cup water
- 1 cup quinoa
- 1/4 tsp kosher salt
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions:
- Give quinoa a quick rinse in a fine mesh sieve for a few seconds. Shake off any excess water
- Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in pot over medium-low heat, add quinoa and stir constantly for 5 min. (Make sure not to let it burn!)
- Bring to a simmer, then cover and cook over low heat until tender, about 15 min. Remove from heat, let stand, covered ten min. Fluff with a fork.
