My favorite restaurants from the three years I lived in Philadelphia! All of these restaurants are vegetarian-friendly, and delicious! Many pictures are taken from my iPhone 5 years ago so please excuse the photo quality (food quality is still the same ❤ )
- Aqimero (Center City)-Delicious and unique dishes at this Latin Asian Fusion restaurant at the Ritz Carlton. On the pricier end, but worth the splurge!
- Gran Cafe Laquila (Center City)- First floor is a gelataria/coffee shop, second floor is a restaurant. Gelato and coffee (I always order cappucinos) are amazing. This is a great place for authentic Italian cuisine! The second floor restaurant has traditional and unique Italian dishes, including pasta with savory gelato!
- La Colombe (Center City, Rittenhouse Square, Fishtown and more)- the best coffee you can find in Philadelphia! The coffee shop is so good its spread to chains outside of the city (and I’ve even found iced coffee bottles of La Colombe in grocery stores and pharmacies in Miami)! The coffee shop not only has great cappucinos, but also lovely croissants. The Fishtown location has a delicious cafe menu with meals you can order.
- T-Swirl Crepe (Chinatown)- Unique Japanese style crepes (both savory and sweet options are delicious!). My favorite is the Vegetarian Lover (Baby Spinach, Julienned Carrots, Shelled Edamame (Soybeans), Tofu Rectangles, Cucumbers, Boiled Asparagus, String Beans, Corn, Raisins, Tofu Sauce, Sesame Dressing)

- Charlie Was a Sinner (Gayborhood)- Vegan Tapas! Their vegan ricotta tastes like the real deal and is SO GOOD. Fun place to get healthy alcoholic drinks made with fresh fruits and vegetables
- Indeblue (Gayborhood)- delicious Indian food. “We take pride in offering a variety of vegan, vegetarian and gluten-friendly menu items that are both creative and full of flavor. Chef Ramola prides himself on creating some of the most exciting and delicious fusion cuisine available in Philadelphia (From Indeblue Website).” The vegetarian thali (sample platter) is my favorite, although I’ve loved everything I’ve eaten at this restaurant!
- Bar Bombon (Rittenhouse Square)- Mexican Vegan food from the owners of Hip City Veg. So good you wouldn’t even know its vegan!
- Hip City Veg (Rittenhouse Square, University City, and more!)- the first restaurant I ever went to in Philly! The fried chik’n is so good my brother didn’t even realize it was fake meat (everything here is vegan!) He thought it was even better than a chickfila sandwich, and he is an avid meat eater. My favorite items are the Crispy Hip City Ranch sandwich, the Philly Steak (the only cheese steak I’ve ever eaten as a vegetarian), and the Banana Whip with brownie crumbles.

- Metropolitan Bakery (Rittenhouse square)- cute cafe, I love their breakfast, especially their granola parfait (made with homemade granola and fresh fruit!)
- Pizzeria Vetri (Rittenhouse Square, Art Museum, King of Prussia)- Pizza from the award winning chef Marc Vetri. I’ve loved every item I’ve had at this pizzeria!
- V Street (Rittenhouse Square)- Internationally inspired vegan tapas from mushroom shawarma to dan dan noodles
(Picture From V Street website)
- Zavino (Rittenhouse Square, University City)- favorite pizza is The Stache (whole wheat crust, pistachio pesto, mozzarella, parmesan, lemon vinaigrette, baby arugula). I also love their spaghetti squash (tomato sauce, carrots, zucchini, pine nuts, provolone). Also on weekdays from 4:30-6:00 pm they offer a happy hour special with $3 draft beer, $5 featured wine by the glass, and $8 margherita pizza
- Creperie Beau Monde (South Philly)- Paris meets south Philly! Great amtmosphere at service
